Communities Convergence

By 30 December, 2013July 3rd, 2015No Comments

The first event in Aurora and the first edition of the Communities Convergence, happened in June 2013! After an arduous preparation with a fantastic team of volunteers and organization, we received 50 people from 7 different countries and for 5 days we worked intensively together to create a space of trust and community among such a diverse group of people. We experienced intense moments, full of emotions and many ideas have emerged to expand and continue this work in the future. It was a success!

The Danube Communities Convergence is a bio-regional gathering focused on starting up a network of people and projects working on sustainability and community building in the Danube river basin.

The purpose of the event is to empower the participants to support each-other, build a community network and start new collaborations. This helps all projects become more resilient and more effective.

Participants of the event will have the opportunity to exchange experience, knowledge, tools and know-how in the field of community building and sustainable living. This gathering also provides the opportunity of networking for collaboration and building up gift-economy support systems (i.e. exchanging products, establishing regional currencies, overlap projects, etc.).
